About Azerbaijan
The Republic of Azerbaijan is situated between Eastern Europe and Western Asia with the Caspian
Sea to the
east. It shares its borders with Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Iran and Turkiye. Baku city is the
capital of
Azerbaijan.
With a variegated and beautiful terrain, Azerbaijan has a blend of traditions and modern
development. The
people retain their folk traditions, but one can also see a fast-track modernization,
characterized by
industrialization, the development of power resources, and the growth of the cities.
Azerbaijan was
the world`s leading producer of oil at the beginning of the 20th century.
Gradually,
diversified pursuits supplemented the exploitation of oil. However, fine horses and caviar
continue as some
of its more distinctive traditional exports.
Tourism contributes in a significant manner to the
economy of the country and for a number of
reasons.
This beautiful country boasts of high peaks in Bazardyuzyu (Bazardüzü; 14,652 feet),
Shakhdag,
and Tufan,
all part of the Greater Caucasus range. This part of Azerbaijan`s northern boundary is a region
of great
natural beauty comprising of magnificent spurs and ridges, cut into by the deep gorges of
mountain streams.
The second important mountain system is made of the Lesser Caucasus, in southwestern Azerbaijan.
It
includes the Shakhdag, Murovdag, and Zangezur ranges with summits rising to nearly 13,000 feet,
and also the
Karabakh Upland. The large and scenic Lake Geygyol lies at an altitude of 5,138 feet.
Talish
(Talysh) Mountains having three longitudinal ranges, with Mount Kyumyurkyoy as the highest
peak
(8,176 feet), and the Länkäran Lowland, along the Caspian coast borders the southeastern part of
Azerbaijan.
OBJECTIVES

Business Council
To promote bilateral trade between India and Azerbaijan. To boost businesses of all the sectors, particularly MSMEs, and create business opportunities. To promote businesses of all sizes across the two countries Establish business to business and people to people contact Create tie-ups amongst chambers of commerce and have businesspeople as part of this council.

Cultural Council
To promote cultures and exchange ideas and values through this council Facilitate cultural exchanges in the form of music, dance, history, artifacts, exhibitions, expos and even through online mediums Create opportunities for student exchanges, training and courses to promote cultural relations between India and Azerbaijan. To promote artists through shows, exhibitions, etc. either in person or through online mediums.
